Sid King, M.D.
Sid King, M.D., practices internal medicine and is the managing partner for Sumner Medical Group (SMG) in Gallatin, Tennessee. In 1996, he led the merger of a four-provider Internal Medicine practice and a three-provider Family Practice group to form SMG, which is now a 32-provider multi-specialty group.
Dr. King has extensive clinical management experience and currently serves on the board of directors and as the finance committee chairman for Synergy Healthcare, an independent physician association with 200 primary care physicians serving 26,793 Medicare Advantage patients and 22,400 commercial patients.
Dr. King has a special interest in quality improvement, preventive care and chronic disease management and is currently a member of the Quality Committee at Sumner Regional Medical Center, a LifePoint hospital. Dr. King graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1976. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the City of Memphis Hospitals in 1979 and became certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the same year. He was selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” in 2000.
