John E. Maupin, Jr. currently serves as the Chair of the Company's Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
Dr. Maupin has served as the president of Morehouse School of Medicine since July 1, 2006.
From July 1994 until June 2006, Dr. Maupin served as president of Meharry Medical College. Dr. Maupin currently serves on the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education Accreditation of the U.S. Department of Education. He also has served on the National Advisory Research Resources Council of the National Center for Research Resources, National Institutes of Health; National Advisory Dental Research Council of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, National Institutes of Health; and the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Center for Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Maupin is a director of HealthSouth Corporation, a publicly-traded provider of healthcare services, and serves as a director/trustee for the VALIC family of funds, a fund complex.
